Oxelo is going to teach you THE most iconic skateboarding trick: the ollie.

Before tackling this trick, don't forget to put on some protective gear. Besides protecting you effectively, it'll help you feel more at ease as you learn so you'll have way more confidence going into the trick.

WHAT IS AN OLLIE?

The ollie is the skateboarding basic. The aim is simple: to “jump” with your board. Once you've got the hang of this trick you'll be able to do loads of more advanced ones. But as always with skateboarding, you need a lot of patience to get there.

BASIC POSITION ON YOUR SKATEBOARD

Your back foot should be right over the end of the tail and your front foot in front of the bolts.

THE POP

Your back foot is going to kick down on the tail while your front foot will rub upwards towards the nose. Tuck your knees up as the board comes up to create the pop.

Tip: to avoid breaking your board, land with your feet over the eight bolts. Landing badly will eventually snap your board in two...

Over to you!
